Old Church Cottages is situated in the hamlet of Chollerton, which is six miles north of Hexham in the beautiful North Tyne Valley in Northumberland. The three holiday cottages have been converted from the old stone church buildings and each one retains many of the original features. The cottages have been awarded a four star self-catering rating by Visit England.
These tastefully converted cottages sit within their own secluded grounds and are 2 miles from Hadrian's Wall with Heavenfield to the south and Paradise to the west - so if you're looking for a self-catering holiday in Northumberland, a stay here really will provide you with an escape to the country.
Within around an hour, you can drive to historic Alnwick, the wild North Pennines or remote Kielder National Park, or even take a trip to the scenic Scottish Borders or the picturesque Northumbrian coast. The cottages also provide a perfect base for two of the region's most prestigious running events - the Great North Run and the Kielder Marathon.
Don't worry though - if you need to keep your hand in with some retail therapy, Newcastle city centre and the Gateshead Metro Centre are just 25 miles away!
